Fabian’s Vocabulary in his first 20 months

This is the first contribution post from my lovely husband.. but the funny thing is he can’t remember how to add post in this blog.. so, as you can guess, I post it for him..

Please don’t be confused, we’re teaching Indonesian as Fab first language so all of these words will be in Indonesian and we also provide the meaning of his words..

Fabian’s Vocabularies

1. Mama –> Mama
2. Papa –> Papa
3. Kukuh –> Kukuh
4. Kung –> Kungkung
5. Popoh –> Popoh
6. Kong –> Engkong
7. Ema –> Ema
8. U –> Oom Uu
9. Enah –> Enah
10. Eu-eui –> Elin
11. Cus –> suster
12. O –> Om Nano
13. As –> Mas
14. Is –> Habis
15. Brum-brum –> mobil
16. Jan –> ujan
17. Mo mo –> no
18. Ngan –> jangan
19. Bad –> bad
20. Boa –> bola
21. Goa –> yoghurt

25. Bah –> besar  (this is quite tricky, coz it similar has pronunciations with "basah".. usually he will make certain movement with his arm when he meant to say "big"

32. Jugjlek –> polisi tidur

69. Cha..cha.. –> gemes mau kekamar kukuh
70. Bom –> balon

76. am –> memasukan makanan ke mulut

79. dor –> dor (sound of thunder light)

Among all those word, the first word is still "Mama" . Amazing ya for a beginner! I remember a month ago his vocab is not more then 20. What a great growth. Now I know what it means by "the golden age"

12. Fabian ke mana ya? –> ja
13. Bapil mana ya? –> ngambil Bapil (boneka babi)
14. Yossie mana ya? –> ngambil bonek Yossie
15. Kalo sakit? –> eu eu
16. Kerja di mana? –> Gogor
17. Baby nangisnya gimana? –> oa
18. Lets? –> go
19. Are you ready? Yeee
20. If you have and you know it, blow the sax? Oooaaa
21. Fabian sayang mama? – jawabannya adalah gelengan kepala
22. Om lagi masak apa? –> bi atau mi
23. Kalau bobo gimana? – memiringkan kepala sambil mengeluarkan bunyi zzzzzz… atau tiarap dikasur sambil goyang pantat
24. Fabian kalau sudah besar mau jadi apa? –> cin
25. kalau basah jadi –> cin  (aha.. now you know why he wants to be "licin")
26. tik-tik-tik bunyi? –> jan … diatas –> "brum-brum"
27. karatenya gimana? –> bet (sambil memajukan kedua tangannya kedepan, lengkap dengan gerakan kuda-kudanya)

Several of this words are said with certain melody, body movement.. I can’t stop admire him as a true star..so cute!

Others sign
If he is angry, we talk to him and his response is "Oe"
If he does not like to be approached, his response is "waw uwaw"
If he wants you to do something, he will take your hand and show you the object – most of the time, related with cooking or playing his car
If he wants to take the object from you, he will say “fafab” – means you have to give it to him.
